About the role
MedPro Healthcare Allied Staffing is seeking a travel Speech Language Pathologist for an assignment in Van Nuys, California. This is a 13-week contract starting 09/07/2026, with a schedule of 40 hours per week and 8-hour shifts.
Responsibilities
- Assess referred patients requiring treatment for speech, hearing, and/or language deficits.
- Teach patients to make sounds, improve their voices, or increase oral/written language skills for effective communication.
- Instruct individuals on strengthening muscles or using compensatory strategies to swallow safely without choking or inhaling food/liquid.
- Provide skilled speech therapy services/interventions in accordance with physician orders.
- Assess patient needs, plan, evaluate, and modify care to meet speech therapy intervention goals.
- Set realistic and achievable goals to help patients develop, recover, or maintain reliable communication and swallowing skills for educational, vocational, and social roles.
Requirements
- Current state license as a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) or actively in the process of obtaining one.
- At least one year of professional working experience.
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Current CPR certification.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) required.
- Additional requirements may be determined by the client facility.
