Travel Speech Language Pathologist - $2,446 per week

About the role

A skilled nursing facility / long-term care center is seeking an experienced Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for a contract assignment. This position involves assessing and treating patients with speech, hearing, or language deficits, as well as teaching compensatory strategies for swallowing disorders.

Responsibilities

• Assess referred patients requiring treatment for speech, hearing, or language deficits
• Teach patients to produce sounds, improve vocal quality, or increase oral/written language skills for effective communication
• Instruct individuals in muscle strengthening or compensatory strategies to enable safe swallowing without choking or aspirating food/liquid
• Work within an interdisciplinary team to develop a plan of care for each patient
• Provide skilled speech therapy services and interventions according to physician orders
• Assess patient needs, plan, evaluate, and modify care to achieve speech therapy goals
• Set realistic, achievable goals for patients to develop or recover communication and swallowing skills for educational, vocational, and social roles

Requirements

• Must be an SLP-CCC
• Graduation from an accredited school
• Current state license as a Speech Language Pathologist, or proactively in the application process for current state licensure
• Current CPR certification

Schedule

• 8-hour day shifts
• 40 hours per week
• 13-week duration
• Start date: ASAP
