This role involves supporting patients with a variety of medical and surgical diagnoses, providing essential speech therapy services as directed by physician orders throughout the hospital. Schedule Shifts are scheduled from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with variability throughout a 13-week contract period. Responsibilities Provide assessment and intervention for acute care patients, including those in the ICU. Support individuals with conditions such as stroke, neurological disorders, dysphagia, respiratory compromise, and cognitive impairments. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive patient care. Maintain detailed documentation of patient assessments and treatment plans. Qualifications Minimum of 15-18 months of recent experience in speech-language pathology, with a focus on acute care settings. Current Georgia license for Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP). AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Prior experience in an acute care environment is highly desirable. Proficiency in Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBS) or Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) is a plus but not mandatory.
