Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a travel assignment in a Long-Term Care setting. The SLP will evaluate, treat, and rehabilitate patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders while developing individualized care plans that align with regulatory requirements and evidence-based clinical practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Screen, evaluate, and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive, communication, and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and clinical outcomes.
  • Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practices to support treatment interventions.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
  • Evaluate treatment effectiveness and make appropriate referrals when necessary.
  • Provide education, consultation, and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare team members.
  • Collaborate effectively with supervisors and interdisciplinary team members regarding patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans.
  • Complete comprehensive discharge summaries and treatment documentation in accordance with regulatory and company standards.
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records and treatment minute documentation.
  • Participate in patient care conferences, utilization reviews, rehabilitation meetings, and other required interdisciplinary meetings.
  • Attend mandatory trainings, in-services, and professional development activities.
  • Coordinate and obtain necessary DME and therapy-related supplies as needed.
  • Supervise and support Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates and Speech-Language Pathology students when appropriate.
  • Maintain compliance with ASHA standards, state practice acts, professional ethics, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Active Oklahoma Speech-Language Pathologist License
  • CCC-SLP certification through ASHA
  • Minimum of 1 year of Speech-Language Pathology experience
  • Long-Term Care (LTC) and/or Rehabilitation experience
  • Strong clinical documentation and communication skills
  • New Graduates Welcome
  • New graduates will be considered if they have completed:
    • A Level II clinical experience
    • Not solely a Level I observation experience
  • Preferred Skills
    • Experience working with geriatric populations
    • Knowledge of dysphagia management and cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation
    • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems
    • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced rehabilitation environment
