About the role

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a travel Speech Language Pathologist for a 13-week assignment in Luverne, Minnesota.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders in patients of all ages.
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy programs based on evaluations, patient goals, and evidence-based practices.
  • Audit patient progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and maintain detailed documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Provide education on effective communication strategies, home-based exercises, and safe swallowing practices, while offering supportive counseling.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards.
  • Engage in quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities to stay current with best practices in speech-language pathology.

Requirements

  • Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in compliance with state regulations.
  • Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
  • Master’s degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology.
  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Speech Language Pathology experience, but new graduates are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.
  • Must have the ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.
  • Must be able to read/write and comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficient in PC skills.
  • Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure.
  • Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism.
  • Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment.
  • Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate.
