About the Role
MedPro Healthcare Staffing, a Joint Commission‑certified agency, is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist for an assignment with a top healthcare client. The SLP will assess and treat patients with speech, hearing, language, and swallowing deficits, helping them develop or recover reliable communication and swallowing skills for educational, vocational, and social roles.
Requirements
- Current state license as a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) or actively pursuing licensure
- At least one year of professional experience
- Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology
- Current CPR certification
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP)
- Additional requirements may be specified by the client facility
Responsibilities
- Assess referred patients requiring treatment for speech, hearing, and/or language deficits
- Teach patients sound production, voice improvement, and oral/written language skills for effective communication
- Instruct individuals on strengthening muscles or using compensatory strategies for safe swallowing
- Provide skilled speech therapy interventions per physician orders
- Assess patient needs, plan, evaluate, and modify care to meet speech therapy goals
- Set realistic, achievable goals for patients to develop or recover reliable communication and swallowing skills
