About the role

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a travel Speech Language Pathologist for a 13-week assignment in Middletown, Rhode Island.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders in patients of all ages
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evaluations, patient goals, and evidence-based practices
  • Audit patient progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and maintain detailed records in the electronic medical record
  • Provide education on effective communication strategies, home-based exercises, and safe swallowing practices to patients, families, and caregivers
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care
  • Maintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards
  • Engage in quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities to stay current with best practices in speech-language pathology

Requirements

  • Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in compliance with state regulations
  • Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
  • Master’s degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology
  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Speech Language Pathology experience, though new graduates are welcome to apply

Qualifications

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions
  • Proficiency in PC skills
  • Physical abilities to remain in a stationary position, move about, lift up to 100 lbs, push, pull, and bend
  • Interpersonal skills to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) and provide a positive attitude and professionalism
  • Technical/motor skills to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
  • Mental requirements to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure, work under close supervision, and work without assistance from other personnel
  • Sensory to possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
