Travel Speech Language Pathologist - $1,953 per week

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Speech Language Pathologist for an immediate opening in Middletown, Rhode Island. The right SLP should have 1 year of experience; for an exceptional candidate with an appropriate background, 6 months of experience may be accepted. New graduates are encouraged to apply. As an SLP, you will assist patients with speech, voice, or swallowing impairments and evaluate and develop plans of care for diverse patient populations in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, treat, and prevent speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
• Create treatment and therapy plans to suit the individualized needs of a diverse population of patients.
• Perform screenings to detect voice or speech disorders.
• Educate patients and family members about speech disorders and causes, including disabilities and traumatic events.
• Report progress and current status to appropriate parties, which may include family members, teachers, or medical professionals.
• Provide timely and accurate documentation following state and/or insurance guidelines.

Requirements

• Minimum 6 months of experience (1 year preferred; new grads encouraged).
• Current BLS certification.
• ASHA‑SLP National Certification with state‑specific licensing.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods, and to bend, lean, or stoop without difficulty.
• Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
