Fusion Medical Staffing-Therapy is seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist for a 13-week travel assignment in Inman, South Carolina.

About the role

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) evaluates, diagnoses, and treats communication and swallowing disorders in individuals of all ages. The SLP develops and implements individualized treatment plans to enhance speech, language, and cognitive-communication abilities, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and caregivers to improve communication outcomes and overall quality of life.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize standardized assessments and clinical observation to evaluate speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders across a diverse patient population.
  • Design personalized therapy programs based on evaluation findings, patient goals, and evidence-based practices.
  • Continuously assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and maintain detailed, accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on effective communication strategies, home-based exercises, and safe swallowing practices, while offering supportive counseling as required.
  • Work in conjunction with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate a comprehensive approach to patient care.
  • Maintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards while addressing patients’ comfort needs during therapy sessions.
  • Engage in quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities to remain current with best practices in speech language therapy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice.

Requirements

  • Valid Speech Language Pathologist License in compliance with state regulations.
  • Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
  • Master’s Degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology (preferred).
  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (preferred).
  • Speech Language Pathology experience (new graduates welcome to apply).
  • Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position.

  • Proficiency in reading and comprehending written instructions, following verbal instructions, and using PC skills.

  • Technical/motor skills to grasp, perform fine manipulation, and assist with procedures.
  • Mental resilience to cope with frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work under close supervision or independently, and manage irregular schedules.
  • Visual acuity and effective communication abilities.

Schedule

  • 13-week assignment.

Pay package is based on 8-hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
