About the role
TotalMed Allied is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for an immediate travel opening in Burnie, MD. The SLP will be responsible for assisting patients with speech, voice, or swallowing impairments and evaluating and developing a plan of care for a variety of patient populations in the acute care setting.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, treat, and prevent speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Create treatment and therapy plans to suit the individualized needs of a diverse population of patients.
- Perform screenings to detect voice or speech disorders.
- Educate patients and family members about speech disorders and causes, including disabilities and traumatic events.
- Report progress and current status to appropriate parties, which may include family members, teachers, or medical professionals.
- Provide timely and accurate documentation following state and/or insurance guidelines.
Requirements
- Must have 6 months of experience; however, new grads are encouraged to apply.
- Must have BLS and ASHA-SLP National Certification with state-specific licensing.
- Speech-Language Pathologists should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty.
- SLPs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
- Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.

- 30 hours per week
