About the role

The position involves providing specialized instruction to students with mild to moderate disabilities within a school setting. The teacher will collaborate with other educators, parents, and therapists to develop and implement individualized education plans.

Responsibilities

  • Teach academic subjects tailored to the needs of students with mild to moderate disabilities.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) based on student assessments and goals.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to provide a comprehensive educational program for students.
  • Assess student progress regularly and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
  • Participate in parent-teacher conferences and communicate effectively with families about student performance and progress.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education or related field.
  • State special education teaching certification.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with students with mild to moderate disabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.

Skills

  • Knowledge of special education laws and regulations.
