About the role
The position involves providing specialized instruction to students with mild to moderate disabilities within a school setting. The teacher will collaborate with other educators, parents, and therapists to develop and implement individualized education plans.
Responsibilities
- Teach academic subjects tailored to the needs of students with mild to moderate disabilities.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) based on student assessments and goals.
- Collaborate with other professionals to provide a comprehensive educational program for students.
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences and communicate effectively with families about student performance and progress.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education or related field.
- State special education teaching certification.
Qualifications
- Experience working with students with mild to moderate disabilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
Skills
