Travel SICU RN - $1,922 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The assignment is 13 weeks, 36 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts. The ideal candidate will have 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience and will work with a multidisciplinary team to care for patients after open‑heart surgery, heart transplants, and other critical cardiac procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care to patients with potentially life‑threatening heart conditions.
• Prepare and administer prescribed medications.
• Take samples for diagnostic tests; order, interpret and evaluate diagnostic tests.
• Apply hemodynamic, phlebotomy and IV protocols.
• Respond to emergencies to provide CPR and operate defibrillators hospital‑wide.
• Educate patients and family members on post‑discharge recovery management.
• Stand, walk, bend, lean and stoop for extended periods; lift up to 20 lb routinely and up to 50 lb when moving patients.
• Cope with stress in a fast‑paced environment and relate to patients of all ages and backgrounds.

Requirements

• 1‑2 years’ recent acute care experience.
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning the assignment.
