Job Summary

Aya Healthcare has an immediate opening for a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in Charlottesville, VA. This position offers competitive pay and flexible scheduling options.

Responsibilities

• Perform adult critical care procedures
• Aerosol set up mask, aerosol set up trach, bag and mask, biPAP, bronchoscopy, CPAP, emergency department procedures, extubation, fresh tracheostomy, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), intubation assist, metered dose inhaler (MDI), nasal airway placement, nasal airway suctioning, oral airway placement, oral/nasal suctioning, oxygen tanks, racemic epinephrine, albuterol, aspiration, atrovent, chest physiotherapy, chest physiotherapy: vest, combivent, drawing arterial blood gases, inhaled steroids, medihaler, patient transport (inter-departmental and ambulance transport), pneumocort, pulmicort, pulmonary hygiene, simv (synchronized intermittent mandatory ventilation), spiriva, trach collar, sputum specimen collection, suctioning (ETT, NT), t-piece, t-piece, trach collar, tracheostomy care/management, troubleshooting high pressure alarms, weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Interpret and follow physician orders
• Document patient care in the electronic health record (Epic)
• Ensure patient safety and comfort
• Participate in ongoing professional development

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience as a respiratory therapist
• Current RRT certification
• BLS certification

Qualifications

• Experience with adult critical care
• Knowledge of various respiratory treatments and equipment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
