Responsibilities & Skills

• Adult Critical Care
• Aerosol set up (mask, trach)
• Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, Mucomyst, Perforomist, Pulmicort, Spiriva, Terbutaline Sulfate, Theophylline, Tobramycin, Xopenex
• BiPAP, CPAP, Bubble CPAP, CPAP/Nasal CPAP/BIPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), T-piece, Trach collar
• Drawing arterial blood gases and interpretation of ABGs
• Emergency Department procedures
• ET Tube management (extubation, intubation assist for adult, pediatric, neonatal)
• Hand-held nebulizers, Medihaler, Metered Dose Inhaler (MDI)
• Nasal airway placement, oral airway placement, oral/nasal suctioning
• Oxygen tanks and delivery systems
• Pediatric and neonatal respiratory care (including assist in high-risk delivery, apnea monitoring, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, transient tachypnea of the newborn, respiratory distress syndrome, respiratory syncytial virus)
• Sputum specimen collection
• Tracheostomy care/management (including fresh tracheostomy)
• Troubleshooting high-pressure alarms
• Ventilator management (IMV, SIMV, pressure/volume ventilator, oscillating ventilator, high-frequency jet ventilator, high-frequency oscillator, weaning from mechanical ventilation)
• Specialized therapies (Nitric Oxide (INO), inhaled Flolan, racemic epinephrine, Ketamine, Isuprel, Bicarbonate)
• Bronchoscopy assistance
• Chest physiotherapy (including vest therapy)
• ECMO (including protocol-driven ECMO)
• Spirometry, bronchial provocation testing, diffusion testing, shunt studies, exhaled breath testing
• Capillary blood gases, arterial punctures
• Basic EKG interpretation
• Pulmonary hygiene, COVID care, cystic fibrosis management, pneumonia care, ARDS management

Requirements

Experience: 1 year

Certifications

• CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist)
• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
