About the Role
Aya Healthcare has an immediate opening for a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in Seattle, WA. This is a 13-week night shift assignment with 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30), starting September 28, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Provide adult critical care respiratory therapy
- Perform bag and mask ventilation, BiPAP, CPAP, Bubble CPAP, and CPAP/Nasal CPAP/BIPAP
- Manage ET tubes, extubation, and fresh tracheostomy care
- Administer hand-held nebulizer treatments and metered dose inhaler (MDI) medications
- Assist with intubation and bronchoscopy procedures
- Perform nasal and oral airway placement and suctioning
- Administer nitric oxide (iNO), Isuprel, Medihaler, Terbutaline Sulfate, Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, Lidocaine, Mucomyst, Perforomist, Pulmicort, Racemic epinephrine, Spiriva, Tobramycin, and Xopenex
- Manage pressure/volume ventilators and troubleshoot high pressure alarms
- Perform weaning from mechanical ventilation and IMV/SIMV
- Deliver pulmonary hygiene and chest physiotherapy (including Vest therapy)
- Collect sputum specimens and draw arterial blood gases
- Interpret arterial blood gas (ABG) results
- Manage High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) and Trach collar
- Provide care for patients with ARDS, aspiration, COVID-19, cystic fibrosis, and pneumonia
- Provide emergency department respiratory support
Requirements
- 1 year of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Current RRT certification
- Current BLS certification
- Epic charting system experience
- Skills in all areas listed under Responsibilities
