Schedule

• 12-week assignment
• Night shift: 3x 12-hour shifts (18:30 - 07:00)

Responsibilities & Skills

• Adult Critical Care
• Aerosol setup (mask and trach)
• Medication administration: Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, Lidocaine, Medihaler, Mucomyst, Perforomist, Pulmicort, Racemic epinephrine, Spiriva, Tobramycin, Xopenex
• ARDS management
• Aspiration care
• Bag and mask ventilation
• Basic EKG interpretation
• BiPAP and CPAP management
• Bronchoscopy assistance
• Chest physiotherapy (including vest therapy)
• Drawing and interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) and heated oxygen delivery
• Inhaled Flolan and inhaled steroids administration
• Intubation assistance and direct intubation
• Oral airway placement and oral/nasal suctioning
• Oxygen tank management
• Patient transport (inter-departmental and ambulance)
• Pneumonia care
• Pulmonary hygiene
• Sputum specimen collection
• Suctioning (ETT, NT)
• T-piece management
• Tracheostomy care/management and trach collar use
• Troubleshooting high-pressure alarms
• Ultrasonic therapy
• Ventilation modes: SIMV, IMV, weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Extubation
• Management/lead experience

Requirements

• 1 year of experience
• Active certifications: BLS, NRP, PALS, RRT, ACLS
