Responsibilities

• Apply tourniquet as ordered
• Aseptic Technique
• Assist to secure drainage system to tissue
• Clamping/cauterizing vessels or tissues
• Counting sponges & related items with circulating nurse
• Cut Tissue
• Digital manipulation of tissue
• Direct digital pressure
• Insert drainage tubes
• Isolation Precautions/PPE
• Manipulation of surgical materials (loops, tags)
• Suctioning, irrigation, sponging
• Suturing all wound layers including muscle and fascia
• Tying/ligating clamped vessels or tissues
• Wound dressing; liquid or spray occlusive
