Travel RN Respiratory / Telemetry - $1,789 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Telemetry for a travel nursing assignment in Zanesville, Ohio. The position is for a Medical Surgical (MedSurg) RN with a focus on telemetry care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on immediate conditions or needs.
• Perform ongoing assessments and appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician.
• Document patient findings and provide education and support to patients' families.
• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and assist the physician during examination and treatment of patients.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plans as prescribed by the physician.

Requirements

• Current BLS certification.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience (as indicated).
• Additional certifications may be required before starting the assignment.

Qualifications

• RN license with Telemetry specialty.
• 1–2 years of recent acute care experience.
• Ability to work 12‑hour night shifts, 36 hours per week.

Skills

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty.
• Capable of lifting 20 pounds routinely and up to 50 pounds when moving or lifting patients.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with patients who may be confused, agitated, or uncooperative.
