Travel RN Medical/Surgical - $2,405 per week

About the role

We're looking for Medical Surgical RNs for an immediate travel nurse opening in Warwick, RI. The right RN should have 1-2 years recent acute care experience. As a MedSurg RN, you will conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs. MedSurg RNs perform ongoing assessments and appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician. Documenting patient findings and providing education and support to patients' families is essential to this travel nurse position.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during examination and treatment of patient.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plan as prescribed by physician.

Requirements

• BLS certification
• 1 year of recent acute care experience (1-2 years preferred)
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment

Qualifications

• Able to stand and walk for long periods of time
• Able to bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty
• Able to easily lift 20 pounds
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds when moving or lifting patients
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with patients who may be confused, agitated, and/or uncooperative

Schedule

13-week travel assignment. 36 hours per week, 12-hour night shifts.

Pay

Pay package based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
