About the role
Access Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN Float Telemetry Med Surg for a 12-week assignment in West Burlington, Iowa. This position involves delivering care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation in coordination with other health team members. The role requires floating between the Medical Care Unit and Inpatient Rehab, serving geriatric, medical/surgical, adult, telemetry, and psychiatric patient populations.
The Medical Care Unit houses less acute patients awaiting long-term care placement with a variety of medical diagnoses. Inpatient Rehab is a designated unit for intense rehabilitation services. While the traveler will not be part of a regular call rotation, they may occasionally be placed on call during periods of low census and must respond within one hour if called in.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in telemetry, medical/surgical, geriatric, adult, and psychiatric populations.
- Utilize the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.
- Float between the Medical Care Unit and Inpatient Rehab as needed.
- Effectively interact with patients, significant others, and health team members while maintaining professional nursing standards.
- Respond to occasional on-call requests during periods of low census, arriving on-site within one hour if called in.
Requirements
- Telemetry experience preferred.
- EPIC EMR experience in a like unit within the last 12 months required.
- Active RN license.
Schedule
- Duration: 12 weeks.
- 36 hours per week.
- 12-hour day shifts.
