Travel RN Charge Nurse - Med/Surg - $1,708 per week

About the Role

ARMStaffing is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Sweetwater, Texas. This is a 13-week contract position. The RN Charge Nurse will oversee the Med/Surg department of a rural Texas hospital, managing the care of adult patients in various specialties including telemetry, general surgery, orthopedic surgery, GYN surgery, and occasional pediatric cases. The average daily census for this role is 10 patients.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate nursing staff and patient care within the Med/Surg unit.
• Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
• Monitor and manage patient conditions, outcomes, and care plans.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Provide guidance and support to nursing staff, especially during critical situations.

Requirements

• Active RN license in the state of Texas.
• Previous charge nurse experience is a must.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
