What You'll Do
- Provide high-quality, person-centered nursing care to residents.
- Supervise Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and other assigned nursing staff, ensuring completion of resident care duties.
- Administer medications, injections, IV therapy, treatments, and other nursing interventions within the RN scope of practice.
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and communicate significant findings to physicians and facility leadership.
- Complete accurate, timely clinical documentation and maintain resident medical records in accordance with company policy and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure resident care plans are followed and communicate resident needs, preferences, and condition changes to the interdisciplinary team.
- Assist with admissions, readmissions, transfers, and discharge planning as needed.
- Provide wound care and oversee specialized treatments as prescribed.
- Maintain medication records, including narcotic counts, controlled substance documentation, and pharmacy orders.
- Promote infection prevention, resident safety, and compliance with established clinical policies and procedures.
- Respond promptly to resident needs, call lights, and emergency situations.
- Collaborate effectively with residents, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives, compliance training, and continuous quality improvement efforts.
- Travel to assigned Iowa facilities to provide clinical support as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Valid, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Iowa.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current CPR certification.
- Ability to travel throughout Iowa with reliable transportation.
- Strong knowledge of nursing practice, resident care, and long-term care regulations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Preferred Experience
- At least one year of RN experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting.
- Previous Charge Nurse or nursing leadership experience.
- Previous Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) experience.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local long-term care regulations.
