Travel Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Role Overview

A Travel Respiratory Therapist provides advanced respiratory care to patients with complex pulmonary and critical conditions, working collaboratively with healthcare teams to assess, treat, and monitor respiratory disorders.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop treatment plans with physicians
• Assess and interview patients with respiratory issues
• Perform diagnostic tests and collect samples
• Administer treatments, including aerosol medications and chest physiotherapy
• Set up and monitor respiratory equipment
• Record patient progress and adjust care as needed
• Educate patients and families on medication and equipment use
• Work effectively within multidisciplinary teams

Qualifications & Skills

• One year of recent RRT experience
• NBRC RRT credential and valid state license
• Current BLS certification; ACLS/PALS preferred
• Critical thinking, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills
• Physical ability to move equipment and assist patients
• Ability to follow instructions and work under pressure
