Role Overview
A Travel Respiratory Therapist provides advanced respiratory care to patients with complex pulmonary and critical conditions, working collaboratively with healthcare teams to assess, treat, and monitor respiratory disorders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop treatment plans with physicians
- Assess and interview patients with respiratory issues
- Perform diagnostic tests and collect samples
- Administer treatments, including aerosol medications and chest physiotherapy
- Set up and monitor respiratory equipment
- Record patient progress and adjust care as needed
- Educate patients and families on medication and equipment use
- Work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
Qualifications & Skills
- One year of recent RRT experience
- NBRC RRT credential and valid state license
- Current BLS certification; ACLS/PALS preferred
- Critical thinking, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills
- Physical ability to move equipment and assist patients
- Ability to follow instructions and work under pressure
