About the role
The Travel Respiratory Therapist provides advanced respiratory care to patients with pulmonary and critical illnesses, assessing, treating, and managing respiratory conditions independently while collaborating with healthcare teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement respiratory treatment plans
- Conduct diagnostic tests related to respiratory care
- Administer respiratory therapies and treatments
- Monitor and maintain respiratory equipment
- Track and document patient progress
- Educate patients and families on respiratory care
- Operate within scope of practice to ensure quality care
- Collaborate with physicians and perform patient assessments
- Support a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Requirements
- Minimum of one year of recent respiratory therapy experience
- NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
- Valid state respiratory therapy license
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Physical ability to handle equipment and work under pressure
- Effective sensory communication skills
