Travel Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - $2,390 per week

Job Description & Requirements

Hospital-based respiratory therapy department covering the entire facility
Team-based coverage model with 14–16 RRTs on staff at a time
Patient population includes adult acute and critical care, NICU/PICU, pediatric acute care, and ED patients
Patient ratios: 1:25 for acute care and 1:8 for critical care
Ventilators used include Dräger V500 and VN500, Hamilton T1 and C1, Respironics V30, V60, and Trilogy line, as well as Airvo and Vapotherm
EMR: Epic
Night shift hours: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Every other weekend rotation required
On-call rotation required approximately one call shift per month, with a 2-hour call-in window for the oncoming shift
Floating between facilities within a 25-mile radius may be required
26-week contract

Requirements

  • RRT credential required
  • BLS required; ACLS preferred; NRP required for NICU assignments
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • Experience in a Level 1 trauma, tertiary teaching hospital required
  • Experience covering adult acute care, adult critical care, pediatric acute care, NICU/PICU, and ED required
  • NICU/PICU and cardiothoracic experience preferred
  • Driver's License required for consideration
  • SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • 2 professional references required for consideration
  • Licenses required if applicable

About the Role

Provide respiratory therapy services across the full facility, including adult and pediatric acute and critical care settings
Scrubs are provided or flexible attire is acceptable
Use of AirPods, laptops, and cell phones on the unit is prohibited
Only approved RTO documented in the contract is guaranteed; additional schedule requests cannot be accommodated
Candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility in Maine or New Hampshire are considered local and may be subject to a different bill rate; local travelers are not eligible for renewals or extensions
Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
If you have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months, this should be disclosed during the consideration process

Benefits

Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined
