Travel Respiratory Therapist - PICU / NICU - $2,560 per week

About the role

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Pediatric Respiratory Therapist for an immediate travel position in Milwaukee, WI. As a Pediatric Registered Respiratory Therapist (Peds-RRT), you will provide direct patient care to patients in a variety of clinical areas, including evaluations and treatments according to procedural guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Administer to patients a variety of simple and complex respiratory and cardiology modalities.
• Maintain appropriate patient records/documentation.
• Clean, disinfect, assemble, calibrate, and maintain respiratory and cardiology equipment and accessories.
• Evaluate equipment for proper and safe function; report malfunctions to director.
• Perform arterial puncture and analyze sample according to procedure guidelines.
• Interact with co-workers, nurses, physicians, and other hospital personnel to optimize continuum of care for patient being treated.
• Respond to emergent situations that could require respiratory support.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience (posting also notes 3 years in requirements list).
• NBRC-RRT certification.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• NRP certification (may be required in some areas).
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
• Physical demands: ability to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, or stoop without difficulty; easily lift 20 pounds; moving or lifting patients may require lifting up to 50 pounds at times.
• Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Pay & Schedule

Pay package based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation), with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
