About the role
American Traveler is seeking a travel Registered Respiratory Therapist for a 13-week assignment in Boston, Massachusetts.
Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory therapy services to critically ill neonatal and pediatric patients, including ventilator management and Code Blue response
- Participation on the Code Blue team
- Work in an inpatient NICU/PICU setting at an academic Level I trauma facility
- Use Drager XL and v500 ventilators
- Make independent ventilator decisions based on patient assessment and laboratory results
- Every other weekend and every other holiday required
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of recent experience in a Level I trauma facility with critical care experience in both NICU and PICU
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
- Active MA Respiratory Care license required (if applicable)
- BLS certification required
- NRP certification required
- NPS and/or ACCS certification preferred
- Ability to make independent ventilator decisions based on patient assessment and laboratory results
- Candidate's permanent residence must be 30 or more miles from the facility
- Two professional references required: at least one must be from a manager-level or above, including a performance evaluation; one within the last 12 months and one within the last 3 years
