Travel Respiratory Therapist - NICU - $3,077 per week

About the role

We're looking for a Pediatric Registered Respiratory Therapist (Peds-RRT) for an immediate travel position opening in Charlottesville, VA. The right Peds-RRT must have 1 year of recent acute care experience. As a Peds-RRT, you will provide direct patient care to patients in a variety of clinical areas, including evaluations and treatments according to procedural guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Administer to patients a variety of simple and complex respiratory and cardiology modalities
• Maintains appropriate patient records/documentation
• Cleans, disinfects, assembles, calibrates, maintains respiratory and cardiology equipment and accessories
• Evaluates equipment for proper and safe function
• Reports malfunctions to director
• Performs arterial puncture and analyzes sample according to procedure guidelines
• Interacts with co-workers, nurses, physicians, other hospital personnel to optimize continuum of care for patient being treated
• Responds to emergent situations that could require Respiratory support

Requirements

• 1 year of recent acute care experience
• NBRC-RRT certification
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• PALS certification (may be required in some areas)
• NRP certification (may be required in some areas)
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
• Ability to bend, lean, or stoop without difficulty
• Ability to easily lift 20 pounds; moving or lifting patients may require lifting up to 50 pounds at times
• Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Pay

Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 48.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.

Schedule

12-hour day shifts, 48 hours per week, 26-week duration.
