Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist with at least 2 years of experience for a 26-week TDY assignment at a remote hospital in Alaska, providing full-scope cardiopulmonary services to patients of all ages.

Details
Inpatient hospital setting providing full-scope cardiopulmonary and respiratory therapy services
Patients of all ages including adult, pediatric, and infant populations
Cardiopulmonary technical skills utilized include airway management, ventilator operation and management, ABG procurement and analysis, chest physiotherapy, patient suctioning, RSV and AFB sample procurement, PFT testing, and intubation assist
Equipment includes adult, pediatric, and infant ventilators, bag valve masks, pulse oximeters, suction equipment, O2 cylinders and concentrators, nebulizers, supplemental O2 delivery devices, pulmonary function equipment, treadmill/stress testing equipment, EKG machines, Holter and event monitors, and iSTAT arterial blood gas analyzer

Requirements

  • Graduate of an AMA-accredited Respiratory Therapy program approved by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) with an AS degree
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in respiratory treatment of hospital patients
  • NBRC credentials required: CRT or RRT
  • Current certifications required: BLS/BCLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP
  • Alaska state license required if applicable
  • DOB and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide full-scope cardiopulmonary services including ventilator management, ABG analysis, chest physiotherapy, PFT testing, and cardiopulmonary diagnostics such as EKG, Holter monitoring, and stress testing
  • Candidates must arrive with documentation of required Joint Commission competencies, including IV/central line site care, fall precautions, age-specific competencies, abuse/neglect, pain management, restraints and seclusion, end of life care, blood transfusions, and current BLS
