Travel Respiratory Therapist
Travel contract for a Respiratory Therapist in Saint Cloud, MN starting 09/14/2026 for 13 weeks. Estimated pay package: $1,832/week, including both taxable pay and non-taxable stipends. Weekly gross pay rate: $1,682.80 - $1,832.01.
Responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate patients' respiratory conditions by reviewing medical histories, conducting physical exams, and performing diagnostic tests.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with respiratory conditions, including asthma, COPD, and pneumonia.
- Administer respiratory therapies, such as oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy, to improve patients' breathing and lung function.
- Monitor patients' responses to respiratory treatments and adjust care plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Operate and maintain respiratory equipment, such as ventilators, nebulizers, and CPAP machines, ensuring proper function and safety.
- Educate patients and their families on managing respiratory conditions, using respiratory equipment, and performing breathing exercises.
- Provide emergency respiratory care, including airway management, resuscitation, and stabilization of critically ill patients.
- Document patients' medical histories, assessments, treatments, and progress accurately and promptly in electronic health records.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients with respiratory conditions.
- Conduct pulmonary function tests to assess lung capacity and function, aiding in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disorders.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, policies, and ethical standards in all aspects of respiratory care.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development to stay current with advancements in respiratory therapy practices.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families, helping them cope with respiratory conditions and treatments.
- Supervise and mentor respiratory therapy students and junior staff, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
