Travel Respiratory Therapist - $2,575 per week

About the role

The Respiratory Therapist (RRT/RCP) provides respiratory care and pulmonary diagnostic procedures for patients with cardiopulmonary conditions at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, WI. The therapist delivers therapeutic treatments, diagnostic testing, ventilatory support, airway management, and patient education in both critical‑care and non‑critical‑care settings, following physician orders and hospital policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform pulmonary diagnostic procedures and respiratory diagnostic testing.
• Provide therapeutic respiratory treatments using medical gases, equipment, humidification, and aerosol therapy.
• Administer cardiopulmonary medications as ordered.
• Manage ventilatory support, including life‑support systems.
• Perform bronchopulmonary clearance techniques.
• Assist patients with breathing exercises.
• Maintain and manage natural and artificial airways.
• Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) as required.
• Educate patients regarding respiratory and cardiopulmonary care.
• Deliver care in both critical‑care and general/non‑critical‑care areas.
• Follow Froedtert Health policies, procedures, mission, vision, and values.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in general respiratory care or critical care (2 + years hospital‑based experience preferred).
• Associate degree from a CoARC‑accredited Respiratory Care program (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
• Current Wisconsin license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) and RRT credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• BLS certification; ACLS certification; NRP certification required for CHD sites (Froedtert West Bend Hospital or Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital).
• Membership in the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) or Wisconsin Society for Respiratory Care (WSRC) preferred.

Schedule

• Shift: 1st Day Shift, 12‑hour days (6:00 AM – 6:30 PM).
• 36 hours per week, 13‑week contract starting 10/05/2026.
• Every other weekend required; no on‑call or floating.

Additional Requirements

• Fit test required.
• Color vision test required.
• Scrub/Dress Code: hunter‑green scrub pants; any print or color top.
