Must be NRP certified upon submission and hire.

Job Summary: Reporting to the Director of Cardio/Pulmonary/Neurology/Sleep Disorders, provides a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care services, for in patient and out patients of all ages.

Job Functions

• Performs respiratory care procedures in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
• Evaluates, treats, and re-assesses patients of all ages, following physicians' orders.
• Functions independently and also assists Physicians and Nursing in the determination and application of therapeutic modalities.
• Affords assistance in the orientation and training of respiratory and nursing personnel.
• Participates in Code Team and Rapid Response Team.
• Provides patient and family education.
• Participates in CQI initiatives.
• Participates in departmental education activities.
• Transports patients.
• Affords assistance in special projects, equipment and stock inventory control.
• Maintains and supports patients' rights to care, privacy and respect.
• Other duties as assigned from time to time.
