Travel Respiratory Therapist - $1,989 per week

Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist position specializing in Neurology at a leading healthcare provider in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. This 13-week contract begins December 7, 2026, with 48 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts (18:45–07:15). The role involves working in a large respiratory care department practicing at the top of their license across med/surg, ICU step-down, and possibly emergency department settings, treating patients from adolescents to geriatrics.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
• Work setting experience in ER, Adult ICU, Med/Surg, and ICU/Stepdown
• Respiratory care experience including: airway management, medication administration, vent management, ABGs, O2 therapy, suction, pulmonary toileting, nebulizer, BiPAP, CPAP, vest therapy, meta-neb, PAP therapy, heated high-flow
• EPIC experience required
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, North Carolina License, and RRT credentials
• First-time travelers welcome; local candidates accepted with a rate difference

Preferred qualifications

• Bronchoscopes experience
• NRP certification

Responsibilities

• Manage 35–45 patients per day across med/surg, ICU step-down, and possibly emergency department units
• Provide respiratory care for adolescents through geriatrics
• Operate specialized equipment: Servo I, Servo U, Hamilton T1, V60, night-time VPAP, Omni-labs, V30s, and ABL90 ABG machine
• Work within EPIC system for documentation and orders
• Fulfill on-call requirements as needed based on workload
• Complete 4 weekend shifts within each 6-week period
• No floating to other facilities; floating only within the unit

Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts (18:45–07:15), 4 shifts per week (48 hours); 36-hour option may be available
• Orientation: initial day shifts 7:00–19:00, then transition to night shifts 19:00–7:00; night shift therapists require a few days of day orientation
• Scheduling per unit needs

Pay

Weekly gross pay: $1,889–$1,989 based on 12-hour shifts and 48 hours per week (subject to confirmation), with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
