About the Role
The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care, delivering intensive respiratory care services and patient transport as medically prescribed. This role involves evaluating patients and recommending treatment plans, as well as educating patients about their conditions and treatments during discharge. Therapists will operate various ventilatory and oxygenation devices, administer prescribed medications, perform chest physiotherapy, monitor vital signs, and assist with respiratory procedures in accordance with established policies and protocols.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients and recommend appropriate treatment plans.
- Explain treatment procedures and equipment to patients.
- Conduct physician-prescribed respiratory treatments using various devices.
- Perform chest physiotherapy and secretion clearance techniques.
- Monitor and record patient data, including oximetry and capnography results.
- Assist in procedures related to respiratory care such as bronchoscopy and chest tube placements.
- Perform tracheostomy care and manage ventilation equipment.
- Communicate patient responses and treatment efficiencies to medical staff.
- Maintain accurate documentation and respiratory therapy charging.
Requirements
- Experience in the delivery of respiratory care services, including monitoring and operating ventilatory equipment.
- Active respiratory therapy licensure required.
- BLS and ACLS certifications preferred.
Schedule
Night shift, 3×12‑hour shifts (19:00–07:00), 36 hours per week.
Pay
Pay package based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
