Travel Respiratory Therapist - $1,860 per week

About the role

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist Tech for a day shift contract requiring RRT certification and 2+ years of experience caring for adult, pediatric, and neonatal populations. The assignment is a 15‑week travel contract in Hilo, Hawaii, starting October 5, 2026, with three 12‑hour day shifts per week (36 hours weekly).

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous airway management including ventilator and non‑invasive ventilator management and support
• Consult with physicians and perform CPR and all aspects of respiratory care
• Report to Employee Health 48‑72 hours prior to assignment start for clearance appointment (including flu vaccination if needed)
• Arrive in Hawaii before a Monday start to report to Employee Health the preceding Friday morning
• Note: first‑time travelers will not be considered for this position

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
• Current RRT certification
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• PALS with NRP preferred
• Active State of Hawaii respiratory therapist license required by start of assignment
• Prior travel assignment experience
• Proof of flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exception required prior to contract start
