About the role

Travel assignment in Owings Mills, Maryland as an Occupational Therapist in a home health setting. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm with a productivity expectation of 30 points per week. On-call and occasional weekend coverage may be requested. Patient population is primarily geriatric. Local candidates are welcome.

Responsibilities

  • Provide occupational-therapy services in patients’ homes
  • Complete OASIS documentation
  • Perform evaluations, develop plans of care, conduct reassessments, and discharge patients
  • Deliver patient/family education and safety/injury-prevention instruction
  • Manage caseload of approximately 6 visits per day
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team using Kinnser/Wellsky platform

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of home-care experience
  • OASIS documentation experience
  • Current BLS certification
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
  • Active or pending Maryland OT license
  • COVID-19 and flu vaccinations (medical/religious exemptions only)

Skills

  • Above-knee and below-knee prosthetics
  • Acute care, adult outpatient, adult rehabilitation facility, and skilled-nursing-facility experience
  • Amputee, arthritis, CVA, dementia/Alzheimer’s, hip fracture/total hip replacement, knee injuries/total knee replacement, Parkinson’s disease, spinal-cord injury, and traumatic-brain-injury rehabilitation
  • Assessment tools: cognitive, perceptual, standardized, Functional Independence Measure (FIM), Functional Capacity Evaluation
  • Splinting: dynamic, static, serial/inhibitory, orthoplast
  • Modalities: anodyne, diathermy, electrical stimulation, TENS, kinesiotaping, myofascial release, edema massage, joint mobilization
  • Wheelchair evaluation & positioning
  • Infection prevention and fall/risk assessment
  • Home-health care, discharge planning, and patient/family education
