Description

Short-term acute care teaching hospital that is a member of the Council of Teaching Hospitals (COTH) with 338 staffed beds
Unit: NICU with floating required between Adult and NICU departments
Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (18:30–07:00)
Every other weekend required; holiday coverage expected
No on-call requirement
Charting system: Cerner (experience preferred)
Special equipment includes Draeger V500, Draeger VN500, and Servo U ventilators
13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active RRT credential and CRT certification required
    MD state license required, if applicable
    BLS required; ACLS preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an RRT in both Adult Critical Care and NICU settings
    ED experience preferred
    Proficiency with airway management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, mechanical ventilation weaning, and ABG interpretation
    Experience with Draeger V500/VN500 and Servo U ventilators preferred
  • Two professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
    Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include airway management (endotracheal tube placement/suctioning, extubation, nasal and oral airway placement, tracheostomy care), pulmonary hygiene, sputum specimen collection, and ABG interpretation
    Medication administration includes bronchodilators and inhaled medications such as Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Pulmicort, Xopenex, Racemic Epinephrine, and others
    Additional preferred skills include bronchoscopy, Nitric Oxide (iNO), Inhaled Flolan, and Mucomyst administration
    Assisting in high-risk deliveries and umbilical blood gas collection in the NICU
    Flu vaccine required
    Ceil blue scrubs required; scrubs are not provided by the facility
  • Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are subject to a local pay rate
