About the role

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position at a Level II Trauma teaching hospital, requiring at least 2 years of experience. The assignment is a 13‑week travel contract on the RRT unit, working nights (4×12‑hour shifts, 7:00 PM‑7:00 AM) for 48 hours per week, with every other weekend required and two of the three winter holidays covered. The role involves adult critical care and Emergency Department settings, using Epic charting, and may require floating within scope of practice.

Responsibilities

• Manage ventilator settings including BiPAP, CPAP, SIMV, and IMV, and troubleshoot high pressure alarms
• Perform airway management including intubation/extubation assistance, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
• Administer medications via nebulizer, MDI, and other delivery systems
• Draw and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Provide care for patients with ARDS, aspiration, pneumonia, and fresh tracheostomy
• Perform chest physiotherapy including vest therapy
• Complete up to 16 non‑billable hours of specialty‑specific orientation modules recorded in Workday
