Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist - $2,369 per week

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Registered Respiratory Therapist for an immediate opening in Waimea, Hawaii. The assignment begins 09/28/2026, lasts 16 weeks, and involves 36 hours per week on 12‑hour rotating shifts. The role requires recent acute care experience and involves direct patient care across various clinical areas.

Responsibilities

• Administer to patients a variety of simple and complex respiratory and cardiology modalities.
• Maintain appropriate patient records and documentation.
• Clean, disinfect, assemble, calibrate, and maintain respiratory and cardiology equipment and accessories.
• Evaluate equipment for proper and safe function.
• Report equipment malfunctions to the director.
• Perform arterial puncture and analyze samples according to procedure guidelines.
• Interact with co‑workers, nurses, physicians, and other hospital personnel to optimize the continuum of care.
• Respond to emergent situations that may require respiratory support.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, or stoop without difficulty.
• Ability to lift 20 pounds routinely; patient moving/lifting may require up to 50 pounds.
• Possess specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience (some references note 3 years).
• Current BLS certification.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• ACLS certification.
• PALS certification (may be required depending on assignment).
• NRP certification (may be required depending on assignment).
• Additional certifications may be required before starting the assignment.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
