About the role

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Registered Respiratory Therapist for a 17-week assignment in Portland, Maine. The position offers 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, and night work.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in various clinical areas, including evaluations and treatments according to procedural guidelines.
  • Administer respiratory and cardiology modalities to patients.
  • Maintain appropriate patient records and documentation.
  • Clean, disinfect, assemble, calibrate, maintain respiratory and cardiology equipment and accessories.
  • Evaluate equipment for proper and safe function and report malfunctions to the director.
  • Perform arterial puncture and analyze samples according to procedure guidelines.
  • Interact with co-workers, nurses, physicians, and other hospital personnel to optimize the continuum of care for the patient.
  • Respond to emergent situations requiring respiratory support.
  • Stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, or stoop without difficulty, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

  • 1 year of recent acute care experience.
  • NBRC certification.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications (may be required).
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Qualifications

  • RRT certification.

Skills

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of respiratory and cardiac equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay

The pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation), with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.

Schedule

The shift is 12 hours, nights.
