Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist - $2,190 per week

About the role

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Registered Respiratory Therapist for a Pediatric Registered Respiratory Therapist (Peds-RRT) position in Fort Dodge, Iowa. This is an immediate travel assignment lasting 13 weeks, with 36 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts. The role involves providing direct patient care in various clinical areas, performing evaluations and treatments according to procedural guidelines, and supporting the continuum of care for pediatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Administer to patients a variety of simple and complex respiratory and cardiology modalities.
• Maintain appropriate patient records and documentation.
• Clean, disinfect, assemble, calibrate, and maintain respiratory and cardiology equipment and accessories.
• Evaluate equipment for proper and safe function.
• Report equipment malfunctions to the director.
• Perform arterial puncture and analyze samples according to procedure guidelines.
• Interact with co‑workers, nurses, physicians, and other hospital personnel to optimize the continuum of care for the patient being treated.
• Respond to emergent situations that may require respiratory support.
• Stand and walk for long periods of time; bend, lean, or stoop without difficulty.
• Easily lift 20 pounds; moving or lifting patients may require lifting up to 50 pounds at times.
• Possess specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience (some references note 2 years).
• NBRC‑RRT certification.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification.
• PALS and/or NRP may be required depending on the assignment area.
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning the assignment.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.

Schedule

12‑hour night shifts, 36 hours per week, for a duration of 13 weeks.
