Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist - $1,980 per week

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Registered Respiratory Therapist for a travel job in Newark, New York. The position is an immediate opening requiring 1 year of recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in various clinical areas, including evaluations and treatments per procedural guidelines.
• Administer simple and complex respiratory and cardiology modalities.
• Maintain appropriate patient records/documentation.
• Clean, disinfect, assemble, calibrate, maintain respiratory and cardiology equipment and accessories.
• Evaluate equipment for proper and safe function; report malfunctions to director.
• Perform arterial puncture and analyze samples per procedure guidelines.
• Interact with co-workers, nurses, physicians, and other hospital personnel to optimize continuum of care.
• Respond to emergent situations requiring respiratory support.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, or stoop without difficulty.
• Ability to lift 20 pounds routinely; moving or lifting patients may require up to 50 pounds.
• Possess specific vision abilities: close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Requirements

• Current BLS certification.
• NBRC certification (Registered Respiratory Therapist).
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience.
• ACLS, PALS, and NRP may be required depending on assignment.
