Job Summary
The Chicago, Illinois, location is seeking a Respiratory Therapist with specialization in Pediatric Respiratory Therapy. This position involves providing high-quality respiratory care to pediatric patients within a healthcare facility. The Respiratory Therapist will evaluate patient needs, operate ventilatory and respiratory equipment, and educate patients and their families on treatment plans, adhering to established clinical protocols and safety guidelines.
Job Details
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- Certifications in respiratory therapy
- Current state license
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in respiratory care
- Valid driver's license
- Able to work nights
Preferred Qualifications
- Pediatric respiratory care experience
- CPR certification (AHA)
- ACLS certification (AHA)
Responsibilities
- Operating ventilatory equipment
- Performing pulmonary function tests
- Managing airway care including tracheostomy and endotracheal tube procedures
- Conducting chest physiotherapy
- Maintaining accurate documentation of treatments
- Adhering to safety and infection control protocols
- Effective communication with the healthcare team
