Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients on a geropsychiatric unit, including assessment, monitoring and documentation of symptoms and changes in condition
• Conduct mental and physical assessments, maintain accurate histories and progress notes
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders; observe and report responses and adverse effects
• Plan, implement and coordinate nursing care activities; lead daily groups and 1:1 sessions as part of the therapeutic milieu; assist with discharge planning
• Collaborate with physicians, multidisciplinary team members, and outside health and social agencies to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Complete required documentation in a timely and thorough manner, including admission assessments and ongoing progress notes

Requirements

• Active New Hampshire RN license
• BLS certification
• Education: 2-year Associate degree or diploma from a 3-year nursing program required; Bachelor's degree preferred
• Experience: 1 year nursing experience preferred
• Medical terminology knowledge
• Ability to work on a geropsychiatric unit and to perform duties on a night shift in a travel assignment
