Job Details
Assesses skills across Pediatric to Geriatric patients with competent knowledge of growth and development stages.
Performs thorough, systematic, comprehensive, and accurate patient assessments.
Consistently demonstrates competent clinical skills and provides appropriate nursing care to unit population.
Knowledge and skill in emergency equipment and procedures.
Maintains complete and accurate documentation of nursing process and patient progress, including patient education.
Demonstrates professional practice responsibility and knowledge of policies and procedures.
Promotes patient and family-centered care with professional, courteous, and positive interactions.
Follows National Patient Safety Goals, Universal Protocol, and uses safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics.
Knowledge of conditions, diagnoses, procedures, and equipment for surgical patients; individualizes care according to procedure and anesthesia type.
Contributes to perioperative team by prioritizing and directing patient care based on patient needs and condition changes.
Assesses patient understanding of surgical procedures and instructions; performs pre-operative and postoperative assessments and education.
Supports timely completion of patient testing and evaluates Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders for appropriateness based on surgery, age, and health status.
Job Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred
- RN License required
- BLS certification required
- AACLS certification required
Unit Specific Information
- Unit involves surgical patient care with knowledge of conditions, diagnoses, procedures, and equipment.
- Care individualized according to procedure and anesthesia type.
- Includes perioperative responsibilities and patient education related to surgical procedures.
- Supports Pre Admission Testing (PAT) processes.
