Schedule
- 40 guaranteed hours per week
- 8-hour day shifts, five days per week
Pay
Weekly pay ranges from $2,665 to $2,767.
About the role
Focus on outpatient infusion and chemotherapy administration for adult and geriatric patients. Use EPIC for documentation and coordinate care within a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy and other IV therapies per physician orders in the outpatient infusion unit
- Monitor patient status, vital signs, and lab values; promptly recognize and respond to adverse reactions
- Prepare, monitor, and manage infusion pumps (e.g., Alaris) and elastomeric devices
- Document care, therapies, and patient education in the electronic health record (EPIC)
- Verify medication administration and reconcile orders with the Omnicell system and related devices
- Collaborate with pharmacists, physicians, and unit staff to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered care
- Provide age-appropriate care for adult and geriatric patients and support patients through treatment-related effects
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in New York
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Chemotherapy certification required
- Minimum of one year of experience in outpatient infusion
- Experience with outpatient infusion workflows, chemotherapy administration, and related safety protocols
- Proficiency with EPIC or similar EMR, Omnicell, and communication systems (Ascom); experience with glucometers
- Familiarity with common infusion equipment (Alaris pumps, elastomeric pumps)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced outpatient infusion setting and to float when needed within scope
