Travel Registered Nurse - ICU - $2,164 per week

About the Role

HealthTrust Workforce Solution External is seeking a travel nurse RN for the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) in Joplin, Missouri. The role starts on 09/21/2026 and is a 13-week assignment with 36 hours per week, working 12-hour night shifts from 1900 to 0730.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for medical, surgical, trauma, and stroke patients in a high-acuity ICU setting.
• Titrate complex IV medications, including vasopressors.
• Manage patients with conditions requiring specialized care, such as STEMI and stroke.
• Float to areas of clinical competence as needed.
• Adhere to facility policies, including standby call requirements for low census.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a high-acuity ICU.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS (AHA only), PALS, TNCC.
• Preferred certification: NIHSS.
• Ability to work weekends and standby call as required by the facility.
• Proficiency with equipment such as IV pumps, chest tubes, GE monitoring, Artic Sun, glucometers, and feeding pumps.
• Experience with EPIC EMR.

• Number of Beds: 24
• Patient Ratios: Typically 1:2, may vary based on patient acuity and staffing (1:1 or 1:3).
• Patient Types: Medical, surgical, traumas, strokes.

Qualifications

• Must be flexible, dependable, and a strong team player.
• Patient-centric and quality-driven approach to care.
• Experience in a Level II trauma center, certified STEMI, and stroke center preferred.
