Travel Radiology Technologist position in Hagerstown, Maryland. Start date ASAP for a 13-week assignment with 40 hours per week on a 10-hour day shift.
About the role
- Specialty: IR Lab Tech with Cardiac Cath Lab (CCL) experience preferred
- Shift: 4x10s, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- On-call required: 12–13 days per 6-week period (17:30–07:00 weekdays; 17:30 Friday–07:00 Monday weekends)
- No floating to other units or sister facilities
- Local candidates within 50 miles receive a $5 lower hourly rate
- No pending state license accepted; one RTO (return-to-work) restriction allowed
- Guaranteed 40 hours per week
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience; first-time travelers not accepted
- Weekend shifts required
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, RCIS (ARRT R preferred)
- COVID-19 and flu vaccines required with no exemptions
- Must live within a 30-minute radius of the hospital while on call
- Strong IR and Cardiac Cath Lab experience
Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of interventional radiology and cardiac catheterization procedures, including but not limited to:
- Angioplasty, cardiac stent placement, PCI, PTCA
- Cardiac ablation, mapping, and electrophysiology studies
- Pacemaker and AICD insertion/programming
- Left/right heart catheterization, hemodynamic monitoring
- IVC filter placement, thrombolysis/thrombectomy
- Dialysis graft interventions (fistulograms/declots), TIPS
- Peripheral and carotid stenting, upper/lower extremity angiography
- Ureteral stent placement, RF ablation for pain management
- Cardioversion, TEE, temporary pacemaker insertion
- Accurate monitoring, conduction studies, baseline measurements
- Room circulating, EKG lead placement, IV starts, venous access
- Participate in STEMI call team (8–12 STEMIs per month)
- Work in a procedural area with 4 rooms, averaging 280 cases per month
- Patient population: adults and geriatrics; daily census of 8 visits
Unit Details
- 4 procedure rooms for:
- Cardiac catheterization (with/without intervention)
- Vascular procedures (port placement, thrombectomy, peripheral vascular)
- Cardiac rhythm management (device implantation, cardioversion/TEE, EP studies)
- Pain management (RF ablation, steroid injections)
- Staffing:
- Days: 2–3 teams of four
- Nights/weekends: team of 4 on call
- 7–10 call shifts per month
- Interdisciplinary support: Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation, Unit Secretary
- Equipment: Philips and Siemens fluoroscopy suites, Philips ISVC (PACS), Philips Xper (hemodynamics), Maquet IABP
