Travel Radiology Technologist - $2,326 per week
Travel Radiology Technologist position in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.
About the role
This is a 12-week travel assignment with a start date of 09/14/2026. The position requires 40 hours per week, primarily 10-hour day shifts (8:00 AM–6:00 PM Monday–Friday, with potential 8:00 AM–4:00 PM shifts on weekends as needed). The role involves rotating shifts and floating between locations in Hoffman Estates, Lincolnshire, and Lakemoor.
A clinical interview with the manager is required, and the facility prefers candidates with a mix of acute and outpatient experience, though acute care is not mandatory. First-time travelers will not be accepted.
Responsibilities
- Perform general X-ray procedures, including extremities, chest, head, spine, and orthopedic imaging.
- Assist patients with positioning, including non-mobile and orthopedic patients who may not be weight-bearing.
- Work independently in a self-directed manner.
- Float between Hoffman Estates, Lincolnshire, and Lakemoor locations as needed (typically notified at least one day in advance).
- Adhere to scheduling requirements, including weekend rotations as needed.
- Follow facility protocols for call-outs (minimum 2-hour notice required).
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Radiology Technologist (mix of acute and outpatient preferred but not required).
- Active BLS, ARRT certification, and Illinois IEMA license.
- Experience with pediatric to geriatric patients, including those with limited mobility.
- Comfort working with orthopedic patients and varying degrees of mobility.
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR (preferred) and PACS (Client Centricity).
- Familiarity with overhead X-ray and DelMedical floor-mounted units.
Facility Details
The role supports a multispecialty clinic, primarily within the orthopedic department. The facility has 2 X-ray rooms and serves an average of 50–70 patients per day. No portables, fluoroscopy, or OR work is required.
- Support: One other Rad Tech on-site; Patient Service Reps (PSRs) assist with patient transfers. Management is available by phone but not always on-site.
- Safety: Panic buttons are available in rooms; no on-site code team (911 will be called in emergencies).
- Orientation: New employee orientation (NEO) on the first day, with the remainder of the week dedicated to onboarding.
- Parking: Free on-site parking.
- Attire: Scrubs of any professional color (no logos).
Pay
Pay package is based on 10-hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation), including a tax-free stipend (amount to be determined).
