Travel Radiology Technologist - $2,280 per week

About the role

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Radiology Technologist for a travel job in Newburgh, Indiana. The right Rad Tech must have experience and will be responsible for the use of diagnostic imaging equipment, ensuring that images are accurate and passed on to physicians for medical interpretation. Rad Techs are also responsible for preparing and caring for patients undergoing radiologic testing.

Responsibilities

• Confirm patient identification, review imaging requests and explain imaging procedures to patients providing reassurance and support as required
• Follow orders from Physicians regarding which area of the patient's body needs imaging
• Correctly position the patient and adjust the imaging equipment to appropriate position
• Prevent unnecessary radiation exposure both to yourself and to patient by taking appropriate protection precautions
• Calibrate imaging equipment
• Prepare results for Physician to review
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Understand and use the McKesson PACS system

Requirements

• 1 year of experience
• BLS certification
• ARRT (R) National Certification
• State-specific licensing when required
• ARRT (R) and BLS required; 2 years experience preferred
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment
• Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, bend, lean or stoop without difficulty
